Jim Corbett Garjiya Safari Zone
Tourists visiting Corbett National Park will not have to be disappointed because the safari slot is not available or the reservation is full. Due to the increasing trend of tourists now from November the new Ringora or Garjia safari zone in Corbett has started for safari. Girija is a newly added safari zone which is now available for tourists to enjoy safari. So far tourist safari zones in Corbett National Park include Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, Durgadevi, Sitabani and Pakhro. Due to the limited number of safari spots, the Corbett administration has opened the Girija tourist zone for tourists. During the peak tourist season, many wildlife lovers are disappointed as they don’t get a chance to enjoy a safari. However, the practice of opening a new zone was a long time coming.
Garjia is a very popular jungle area in the scenic Jim Corbett National Park. This tourist zone is enriched with a large number of plant and animal species. When it comes to the preference of tourists when it comes to safaris, Garjia presents a tough competition to the Dhikala tourist zone. The zone is popular for its beautiful scenery and it is a very cool and peaceful place. The dense forest and its natural beauty are admired by visitors. This area is one of the most tiger range areas in Corbett Park.

Garjia Safari Zone (Ringora Safari Zone) in Corbett is very blessed with rich diversity of flora and fauna. Located at a convenient distance (9 km) from Ramnagar city, Garjia is the most popular zone for wildlife lovers. Garjia has a rich population of Bengal tigers and offers wonderful sightings to its visitors. Amdanda Gate is the entrance to this zone and consists of buffer, tourist and core areas. A limited number of vehicles are allowed to enter in one shift so as not to disturb the natural habitats of wild animals. If you wish, you can enjoy a full day Jeep safari and catch more wild animals in Corbett Park. Summer Timing: Morning: – 05:00am – 08:30am and Afternoon : 03:00pm – 6:30pm
How to get to Garjia Safari Zone?
The gateway to Garjia Zone is Garjia Gate which is about nine kilometers from Ramnagar town. After entering through the Aamdanda Gate, you cross about 5 kilometers of buffer zone before reaching the core area of the Garjia Ecotourism Zone.
