Forest Rest Houses in Bijrani Zone are located at Bijrani and Malani. Motorrest in Bijrani has six rooms (four with double beds and two with one single bed) and a dormitory with four beds. The complex has its own restaurant and dining room. Elephant rides into the jungle are available here. The area is frequented by wild animals and birds undisturbed by human interference. Chances of spotting a tiger, sloth and a herd of elephants are quite high in this part of the park. Malani Motorest has two rooms (double bed) and is very popular with bird watchers and tourists looking for a quiet place. The scenic beauty of Birjani is spectacular. It is blessed with wide grasslands, dense forests and vast water channels and an inspiring array of flora and fauna.

BIJRANI(FRH) Malani Forest Rest House was built in the 1930s and is located on the edge of the core zone of Corbett National Park approximately 12 km northwest of Bijrani. From Bijrani passing Machaan chaur, visitors take an old forest road to Mailani and enjoy the sight of deer grazing in the pastures, Tusker stripping the bark of trees or the occasional encounter with a bear or leopard. Named after the Malani sot (stream), this small FRH offers one of the most picturesque settings and peaceful surroundings. This is one of the best places for a peaceful stay and bird watching.

Bijrani Safari Zone

Bijrani Safari Zone of Corbett National Park is one of the other famous tourist destinations of Corbett Park. This zone is located a few kilometers from Ramnagar and is famous for the number of resorts in the Corbett National Park. The Bijrani Safari Zone shows a rich population of tigers and offers wonderful sightings to its visitors. Amdanda Gate is the entrance to this zone and consists of buffer, tourist and core areas. Safaris can be experienced in the morning or evening, but only outside the core areas. A limited number of vehicles are allowed on a particular trail at any one time, so wildlife habitat can never be disturbed. If you wish, you can enjoy a full day Jeep safari and catch more wild animals in Corbett Park. Bijrani and Malani Forest Rest are two great loading options in Bijrani zone where you can experience a comfortable stay. Visiting hours for morning and evening slots are as follows

Chaurs (grass land) near Bijrani namely Machaan Chaur, Badhai Chaur, Ringora Chaur etc. add to the attractiveness of the forests.

Flora and fauna

The forest area of Birjani is purely peaceful and ideal for a peaceful atmosphere. It can be seen that the forest vegetation is predominantly Sal along with wide grasslands known as Chaur. The topography in Birjani is a bit drier and varied in character. Several species of deer and antelope are seen here namely Chital (Axis axis), Pig or Para (Axis pornicus), Sambar (Cervus Unicolor), Kakkar (Muntiacus Muntjak) etc.

A great place to spot tigers and wild elephants, it is also a popular destination for bird lovers.

There is a high probability of spotting a sloth bear in these forests. They are attracted to both termites and the sweet nectar of Mahua flowers. Bears have been recorded in a drunken state as Mahua ferments in their digestive system.

Reptiles seen in this area are Indian python, cobra, krait and the fearsome king cobra and various species of lizards.

How to reach Bijrani

The entrance gate to Bijrani zone is Aamdanda gate which is about 2 km. away from Ramnagar. After entering through the Aamdanda gate, you will walk about 5 km. buffer zones before reaching the core area of the Bijrani Ecotourism Zone.
