Jim Corbett Dhela Safari Zone
Dhela Safari Zone with an area of 1173 hectares is the sixth ecotourism zone of the Corbett Tiger Reserve which was listed on the CTR Tourism Map in 2014. It was created from the southern buffer forests of the Corbett section. The Dhela forest has the honor of seeing seven tigers once in Corbett’s seventy five years of history. This forest has mixed forest plantations and moist leafy shelters for various species of wildlife including the Sambhar deer which attracts tigers as it is easily hunted. It is also true that the Sal forest area is a favorite area for tigers to hunt their prey. A watchtower built inside the Dhela zone helps tourists to see wild animals from a long distance. Dhela has 46 kilometers of jungle where you can spot different types of wildlife. Travelers can enjoy Jeep Safari in both morning and evening shifts. Only 15 gypsies are allowed to enter the zone per shift. Dhela is especially famous for bird watching. Dhela remains open throughout the year.
